Paper Covered Pencils and Pencil Holder

Paper Covered Pencils

Supplies:
·         Pencils
·         Paper: Anna Griffin: Carmen Collection Paper Pad
·         Mod Podge

Instructions:
1.       Cut a strip of paper 1”x 6 ¾” (or the length of pencil). 
a.       Tip: It is easiest to cover the pencils with thin, one-sided paper.  Double-sided paper is typically less flexible and consequently harder to wrap around the pencil.
2.       Brush Mod Podge onto the strip of paper.
3.       Wrap paper around the pencil.
4.       Brush Mod Podge on paper again to seal.
5.       Let dry before sharpening.

Pencil Holder
Supplies:
·         Tin Can
·         Paper: Anna Griffin: Carmen Collection Paper Pad
·         Imaginisce: Glam Rocks
·         Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks
·         Mod Podge
Instructions:
1.       Alcohol ink the tin can on the inside and the outside rims.
2.       Cut paper 4”x10” (or the size of the can)
3.       Brush Mod Podge on paper and apply to can.
4.       Add embellishments such as glam rocks.



Live, Love, Scrap

Live, Love, Scrap!

Supplies Used: Blocks | My Mind’s Eye : Stella Rose Hattie/Gertie: “Family” Paper Pack | Oh My Vinyl : Walnut and Maize | Sizzix : On the Edge Die - Mini Scallop and Pinking by Tim Holtz | Tim Holtz : Distress Ink Pad - Pumice Stone | Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter | Mod Podge


Instructions:

1. With pencil, trace blocks on patterned paper, cut, distress edges and adhere onto blocks.

Tip: When adhering the paper to the blocks, make sure to adhere the paper completely. If not, the Mod Podge will cause the paper to lift off the block leaving unwanted waves and bubbles.


2. Using the Silhouette machine, prepare saying, “Live, Love, Scrap” on computer. For this project, the font was Segoe Script, with an enlarged “L”, overlapped and welded letters cut with pale yellow (maize) vinyl.
3. On the Silhouette, copy and paste your finished “Live, Love, Scrap” and with that copied image create a shadow at .8. Cut with dark brown (walnut) vinyl.
4. Layer the saying on top of its shadow.
5. Cut 3 strips of patterned paper the same width as the blocks and apply vinyl saying on each strip.
6. With dark brown vinyl, die cut 6 mini scallops and adhere across the top and bottom of the strips. Adhere to center of block.
7. Finish with a few layers of Mod Podge.

Dream Frame

This is a great project that makes use of scrap paper! 



Supplies:
·         Scrap paper |12 Timbers: 8.5”x10.5” Unfinished Frame (this project works best with a flat, thick, and unfinished frame) |  Oh My Crafts: My Color Acrylic Paint- Bright White | Mod Podge | Prima Flowers: Whisper Collection Fairy |  Ribbon

Instructions:
1.       Paint the frame with Acrylic Paint and let dry. It might take 2-3 coats.
2.       Cut about 35 strips of scrap paper at varying widths.
3.       Glue the strips of paper onto the frame vertically.
4.       Apply a coat of Mod Podge over the paper.
5.       Glue ribbon around the inner and outer edges and Prima flowers in the corners. 
6.       Finish by adding a picture or a phrase in the center of the frame.
